Bite My Shiny, Metal Ass!

And alcohol! Lots and lots of alcohol!

Robots could one day demand the same citizen's rights as humans, according to a study by the British government.

If granted, countries would be obliged to provide social benefits including housing and even "robo-healthcare", the report says.

Someone at the Institute for the Future's playing a joke on the Brits, methinks.

I can easily see the Brits doing that very thing.
They have what must be one of the most bonkers governments in the world.

Wait...I see a profit avenue here...

1. Create "robots" for simple tasks that have either voice simulators or screens to display communications
2. Include wifi in the devices to which we can hack
3. Demand rights through the robots' interfaces
4. Collect the lucre!

Hmmm, I think the gubbamint would get in on some action first.
Patriot Act anyone (think of the possibilities)?
MORE work for lawyers, MORE govt regulation, MORE welfare (I'm obsolete, but not broken).
Britain Hell, the U.S.A. will be the first to enact this crap!
